Thanks for the clarification. Having not seen the VC test, I just assumed it was the 8", which would be what I'd want.

The only "gotcha" on the 8" is that it's rated for 5mm linear x-max. I'd want to see how it performs in Klippel testing before I'd commit, because you'd be expecting an 8" to go down pretty low and it might run out of excursion quicker than expected if they're realistic about that 5mm x-max.
