From the few WinISd simulations I did until now the CSS Trio 12, Rockford Fosgate P3D2-12 and Wavecor SW312TU01 look the best (in that order, from best to worse).
In fact the Trio 12 has the biggest Xmax and needs the least compensation from the LT.

Hi rho,
The JBL GTO1214 should be available in Europe? Just for fun I stuffed two of them into a 50 L box in Hornresp, that might just work for you.
Regards,

Interesting. Price looks good too. But I can't find relay-able TS parameters.
edit: found them.

Hi rho,
Petter Person used the JBL GTO1214 in his Kraken 212 tapped horn design (very large). From the reports it seems to be quite a capable driver. I made an outline drawing you can find in Post #171 with measurements made by barco.

Regards,
I certainly cannot fit such a huge enclosure.
I compared the JBL to other subs and it doesn't perform all that bad. Quite good in fact. But maximum SPL it much higher on the CSS (it's got 20mm of Xmax).
Other parameters aren't that different from other subs.

Car Woofer
Car Woofers -don't think that is the way to go...I tried it once, impressive at high levels - almost nothing at low level.
However they did re-design this woofers (great reviews), works in a .65 sealed box.

That's exactly why I look at Rms figures too.
It's a measure for the ability to reproduce details in the signal.
Many car subs have very stiff suspension and conducting coil formers (increases power handling) which increase Rms.
