Driver mounting question

Question!

If i were looking to mount an fr125 and a wr125 into a single cabinet, but didnt want to go with a bipole or use a filter on the wr125, would be acceptable to mount the fr on the front of the cabinet and the wr on the top (facing upwards)

Dont really have the wall clearence for bipoles, and understand that running to full range drivers on one baffle with no filter is bad idea.

the idea seems not that curious too me.

But i fear the resulting speaker will sound
a little dull, when listened to in a normal living room.

Maybe connect both drivers in series and bypass the
WR with a capacitor and/or RC to add some sparkle
to the FR.

Drivers should be selected for same fs, when connected
in series.

Castle in the UK made a speaker in this format. In fact, the Linn Isobaric and a Musical Fidelity design had upward facing drivers. In their case I believe mid and HF faced up as well as forwards. The MF design aimed to make use of room reflections for added ambience. The upward driver would couple to the room boundary better, I'd have thought, if used against a wall, like the Linn and MF designs. (Sorry, no idea what the MF model was called.)

It's a common, and effective format choice, very similar in most respects to a bipole. You'll likely want to add a supertweeter to the FR to maintain the spectral balance off axis.

Being phase plugged, the WR125 is not a great choice for a driver pointing at the ceiling. Without a cap to keep dust out of the voice coil gap, crud will most likely accumulate.
