where does one procure the drivers and electronics to make a reproduction set of JBL hartsfields?
Thanks

Ebay.
However, I wouldn't nrccesarily build a direct copy, unless that's what you're after. The TAD and Fostex horns are better, as are the TAD drivers (with 4001's you could have a two way).

A ggod resource would be to enquire at Classic Audio Repro and see what they use in their replica's. They're quite highly respected from what I understand. The guy who builds them (who's name escapes me at this moment) also builds his own designs using the modern drivers, and may be willing to offer advice.

Thanks a bunch Brett. I am considering helping a friend build these and I thought i should do a little research first. I have built speakers before so I know what is usually involved. These babies look like like major work so I will make sure my friend understands what he is in for.

Regards

Hi Puggy,

It's a big job to build some of the Hartsfields, but you'd end up with a very fine pair of speakers. For all their size, because they're set right in the corners, they take up little room. I used Khorns in a 13'x 14'room.

If your friend does decide to build them, please take some photo's and post them. I'd like to see how they come together.
