Hello there, I'm trying to build a ported speaker box for 4 inch 16w sub. I don't know how to choose the dimensions. Also I don't have any other specifications of the driver. Can anyone please help?
Sounds like the kind of woofer used in desktop computer speakers.
These typically have a resonant frequency of 50 - 70Hz.
The design of a ported enclosure depends heavily on the woofer's T/S parameters and I couldn't advise you without them.
You may be advised to experiment with a small sealed enclosure, say 0.1 cu ft in volume, but don't expect very low frequency extension.
What is your intended application?

Definitely need the t/s parameters if you can get them.
I was just playing with a set of jbl car speakers, and found that while they wouldn’t play into the lower frequencies well, I was able to tame the peak that was at 200hz.
Also picked up a few db of the lower hz as well, all I did was nearly fill the 120 cubic inch sealed cabinets with open cell foam.
