But yeah one of the better things anymore should put money on.
Actually, I would much rather have a well integrated multi sub system with maybe more affordable parts. Than one top notch single subwoofer or 3-way system and having to cope with those pesky room modes.
Nothing beats a good, tight well behaved low end.
The 4 subs I bought were KLH and $90 each. Didn’t have a DSP, just used that paper an took the time for placement, phase changes, and volume. I got it flat anywhere in the room.
When we moved from Michigan to Albuquerque. I built 4 subs and have absorbers and bass traps everywhere.
Well worth all the effort and for an old bass player, I love it.

Before I went down this road, I put 2 milk crates on my listening chair and put my one sub on top of them, then I crawled all around the room on my hands and knees until I found that one spot where the bass was best.
I then put the sub there and was very surprisingly satisfied way the bass sound.
