I bet dan is spending 100$ a week on advil these days.

Seems to only be problems with the eminence built drivers though. Which is curious. has anyone noticed any defencts recently in name brand eminence drivers?

Best of luck in the future dan, hope you get these complaints sorted out soon.

I understand were CC is coming from, he is upset, he did not get what he though he was paying for.

i would offer CC a full refund, to try and keep him happy, thats the most important thing for me personally.

Why would you want a person to be unhappy with something you have made?

You can not and will not be able to make one driver that will make everybody happy and CC is one of the people that is an Apple man and not an Orange man it would seem and there are so many fruits to choose from.

Welcome to the wide world of 'issues', Dan! Hehehe!

Man, you should see the hassles I have sometimes from people..giving me grief over THEIR inability to 'paint' a wall.

Crikey!

One guy, we sent him free Screen Goo coatings..4 times! Either he was eating the stuff to survive... or he shouldn't be trusted with his own britches. I think the latter was the more likely case.

I've got 4 of the Extremis drivers. I should likely speak directly with you? (of course, not on the forum) Or that Chris guy I was speaking with, If I gots his name right...I'm looking to use these in a quite pro (retail) manner. Every time we sell a system, 10 of them (extremis) get sold. The test box designs are being assembled by our carpenter. A nice cherrywood....

Question:

Which driver works best in sealed box, about 2.5 cubes, and down low with extreme SPL. One that would go best with that ridiculous class D plate amp of yours. the 1k watter job.

Sorry KBK but i cant resist but put in my opinion!
a 2.5 cube box is really cramped for alot of home audio drivers. But car audio drivers are often used to small boxes, so i would suggesta bhrama 12". It should take the 1000 and have decent extension in a 2.5 cu.ft sealed box.

Use a Tumult to stay with Adire.

You have even excursion to work with, so you could use a 2nd order peaking highpass filter of like 3 dB @ 20 Hz, but you would lose a bit of the advantages of a sealed box, but better performance down low.

Yes. i was thinking the 15 inch, as it impresses customers more than the 12" size.

There are other reasons to go with the 15, like more tuneful bass under medium excursion, where most of the action is happening.
The 2.5 cubes is flexible to a certain degree, but we don't want the box to be too large. If the customer is paying a fair amount, their -impression- of 'what is what' is definitely critical. A mild boost at the lowest with that amp-driver combination may be the way to go. Since power and excursion are both (largely) non issues, in the greater sense of the whole.... the 15 may be the way to go. The box can be easily bumped to 2.75 cubes. or so. At this point the sub box is merely a design idea, that has some flexibility.
