Owned one for three days. No measurements....but I do own a lot (eight or so) under $100 amplifiers.
Must say; I'm impressed with this one. It feels high quality in hand.....has heft to it even with its small size.
I've never "upgraded" the power supplies or op amp chips with any of these cheap amplifiers; but this one performs really well out of the box. Some of these cheaper amps seem to prefer a higher RCA line pre gain than standard; and some of these low cost amps sound a bit thin.....this one works well right out of the box......haven't felt the need to boost the power supply or add an RCA line level booster.
The A5 is my first one with PFFB; so I don't know if it's that technology making the difference.
The easily accessible OP amps is a nice feature I will likely never use; but could see how others would enjoy the simplicity of OP amp rolling.

Thank you for the information!
How many ohms speakers do you listen with? Approximately how many hours did you use/listen to the amp?
Thank you!
D'
P.S. I'm gathering information to choose between Douk A5 vs O-Noorus D1. 🙂

Oh, as far as hours listened…..6.5hrs total
Sunday, I listened to TV Spotify to SMSL SU-1 DAC to Aiyima T10 pre amp to DOUK Audio A5 for three hours.
Then, watched Peter Jackson’s King Kong via Blu Ray DVD player to the same audio chain.
Yesterday, I watched King of New York from the TV in the same manner.
Very happy with the performance.

Did some reading on the O-Noorus D1 as I was not familiar with it.
I would get the A5 if you just want a dedicated 2 channel amplifier with high frequency pass filter.
The O-Noorus has many more features such as Bluetooth and a remote…It also has HDMi-In which is really nice at that low price.
The one aspect of the O-Noorus I don’t love is the sub out fixed at 90Hz low pass…I like the flexibility of using multiple amplifiers and would prefer full range mono out….so I could choose to use a full range mono center channel and/or sub…and RCA chain in line other amplifiers with their own frequency pass filtering depending on my preference.
….basically, I don’t prefer a single fixed filtering point; I like adjustability and flexibility.
But the O-Noorus is what I’d strongly consider if I just wanted one device to function as preamp optical in HDMI in coax in and Bluetooth in. It’s an incredible bargain for all those features and PFFB technology.

I think the sound will change as you use it and obviously for the better.Oh, as far as hours listened…..6.5hrs total

I only want to use them as power amplifiers (O-noorus & A5) I don't need the other functions, features. The O-noorus D1 moves up a category after a simple MOD. I am curious to see how the A5 measures out of the box. Could be unnecessary for any MOD. 😉Did some reading on the O-Noorus D1 as I was not familiar with it.

Interesting that PFFB technology has actually only been incorporated into a few amplifiers yet.
Great video with lots of useful information and measurements. Thanks for the recommendation! I look forward to a comparison test with other devices.I have seen a YouTube video or two with measurements on the A5
How loud did you listen to the programmes? How do you feel there was enough power in the A5? How hot was it?The A5 is driving an 8ohm right channel speaker and an 8 ohm left channel speaker.
The 8ohm drivers are relatively low sensitivity…..and they sound great with the A5. I bought the A5 as I wanted to high pass this 8ohm speaker pair at 80Hz
In the video, the gentleman says that the cooling of the A5 is not sufficient, if I understood correctly.
Oooo very sensitive! A 20W amplifier should be more than enough 🙂 especially in the near-field listeningPlenty loud…almost near field listening position with the drivers 4ft away (one to the right of me and one to the left). Never had to turn the volume/gain knob past 12 o’clock.
Looked up the drivers….they are actually quite sensitive with a 94 spl rating.
Do you hear a difference between the sound of the Aiyima A07 max and the Douk A5? It's true that the sound of the A5 may still vary/evolveThe DOUK A5 does get warm….but not as warm as my Aiyima A07max….that one gets noticeably hotter. The A5 warmth is about the same as my Aiyima T10 tube preamp warmth.
I've been using the A5 for ten days now (using it to drive the DIY speakers above......which used to be driven by the Aiyima A07max). The A5 is the better amp for these DIY speakers in this room....mostly due to the HPF. There was/is a room resonance that is minimized by setting the HPF on the A5 at approximately 80Hz. The result is a more pleasing listening experience. The A07max is a wonderful amp for the price and I now use it in a different room to drive a different DIY speaker.......a room isn't as prone to in room resonances.
I don't have any measurements; but I can honestly say the A5 sounds less clinical/less dry that the Aiyima A07max.....this could be my imagination, but it's what I'm experiencing.

Not sure if this is the same video that was posted before (which does not load for me):
- 90 dB HD3 at 8 R, 1 W is pretty shitty for PFFB
- 90 dB HD3 at 8 R, 1 W is pretty shitty for PFFB
Unlucky if distortion is frequency dependent 😏- 90 dB HD3 at 8 R, 1 W is pretty shitty for PFFB
Anyone have experience with what position the knob pointer must be for 80, 100, 120Hz(i.e. 12 O'clock, 1 O'clock, etc. )?The high pass filter is a nice feature....wish it was also demarcated at 80, 100, and 120 Hz.
