If memory serves me the second one is only available with 2 or 4 megs of ram on the controller. Mine only has 8 and seems to do DVD's quite well. Less than that I really couldn't say. I spoke to a guy on ebay that was selling the guts from these, if he's not BSing they are a sharp panel native is 800x600 @ 512 colours in "virtual mode" they push to 1024x768 @16bit. I have the spec sheet for the sharp panels he was selling...his brother was selling the controllers.

Goods news 🙂 if 4 megs will do the job the unisys comes off my turkey list because thats what the monitor ships with..4 meg. I hope to be able to give a better review shortly...I want one for a "carputer" I'm building 😉

Yes I'm one of their newest members 😉. It seems as though they have as many fanatics as we do on this forum :devily: I'm still researching my "carputer" but will have an old "radioshack" computer soon to be the first victim (very "thin" desktop..only about 3.5 inchs thick...with a TV out and many other ports now considered standard) My new car came with a Sony Xplode head unit with inputs so I just can't resist adding some "high tech".

As for the unisys monitor....if it is the LCD screen that I suspect it is..then from a "build" standpoint it is ideal for modding for projection. IE: no boards or cables in the way when the backlight is removed.

Allready in the planing 😉 (802.11) I'd really like to build a "mobile" PJ but the requirements for high powered lamps would put the hurt on any invertor...let alone my puny little alternator 🙁
