Hi All - 1st posting here....
I use Dynaudio Audiance 52's but the dog has eaten the foam plugs ie those for the rear ports; though I should quickly state that he spat out the bits ....
So I need a new pair but i've not been able to find a supplier yet.
I'm assuming that I should get bungs as close as to the original rather than stuff a sock in in them. The are obviously cylindrical measuring 4.5CM in diameter and 6.5CM in depth.
But all all ideas gratefully received !
thanks Richard

I bet you could find a few suppliers of foam products for that purpose and cut to size or order original ones for that matter. Whatever makes you more happy. There is open-cell and closed cell foams and perhaps you could build a middle of the road solution for your own pleasure.

Look here:
McMaster-Carr
McMaster Carr has different formulas of foam in various cylinders/sizes. I am using some I bought from them to completely block the entire length of the vent tubes of a pre-made box. I don't know what density your original plugs were but if you order a slightly larger diameter; the foam will be more compressed once you force it in making a tighter seal.
Best of luck

Good Grief!
Try a pair of socks in the port and save yourself some money. 😎
This sort of thing is not what we call "Rocket Science"! 😀

Thank you Nipper1 - McMasterCarr; i'll check that out.
Thank you Lojzek - yes its not that difficult cutting my own plugs but I thought I'd try to find pre-cut ones 1st.
No luck so far but I have found 'cones' - used for polishing car wheels. These have a handy spindle for fitting into a drill !
regards

do argyle socks have any special audio characteristics?
do the stitches at the toe's affect performance of a sock bung?
what about reinforced heels?
most craft stores stock a variety of closed and open cell foams, even sewing stores have sheet foam for upholstery in different densities (but that's usually white)i would pick one that's similar to the leftovers of the originals (if they aren't saturated with doggy slobber) and insert the new bungs just far enough in that Fido can't pull them out.
it's time for me to go do something productive now.

Cheers Turk - Craft shop thats a good idea had not thought of that.
Fido leaves the speakers alone - generally - but he must have thought it was fun to pull them out (they weren't fully pushed in - doh !).
I should say the reason I'm keen to replace the bungs is that I'll be selling the Dynaudio's in the Spring and it would be nice to supply them when they go. I've had them from new, they are immaculate with original box, packing and leaflet.
thanks richard
Ps: you've heard the saying 'put a sock in it' ? LOL !
The first Argyle socks were designed by Scottish clansmen way back in the 16th century.
They used their traditional tartan to fashion foot coverings, creating the unique diamond pattern.
Sock it to me! 🙂

All - thanks for the help. I've been able to find these; they are 'Foam Polishing Cone Shaped Buffing Pads for Alloy Wheels'. The size is about right and they have a nice handle on the end >>>

There are 3 colours and each has a hardness rating. I went for soft !
So they should do the job and no need for a pair of my best Argyle Socks.
cheers, richard
