Hi.
I am winding a toroid with around 940 turns, and i am thinking about wax potting it in 80/20 paraffin/beeswax, but would this mess up the inductance?

It should not.Hi.

I’m winding guitar pickups on a regular basis and potting don’t mess with the resistance. But temperature do if you test the resistance as the bobin is still hot.

It won’t affect the inductance, but it could make a mess when the transformer heats up during operation.
It might affect it's stray capacitance slightly, but that would probably only matter at high frequencies, e.g 100KHz or so upward.

You got THAT right!
I don't know why anyone would do such a thing. 😱
Thanks for the answers!
Sorry did not mention that this is for a multi tapped inductor, so it would operate at normal temperature.
