Does Arjen TA2020 accept 220v AC?

This maybe a daft question - it states it accepts AC voltage, does that
mean I can plug the board directly into my UK plug socket with no other
modules, just the amp board?

Does the board have several yellow transformers on it? Like this: http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/vendors-bazaar/131684-new-ta2020-pcbs.html

If it does, then yes you can plug it into the wall socket.

The MKI/MKII/MKIII do not accept 220v ac, the 6 channel version does (some dont though 😛)
I guess you bought the MKIII ta2020 with the internal rectifier bridge, which does NOT support 220v ac. Only around 10v AC or so...

Thanks guys, it was indeed the mkIII with the rectifier bridge.

What is recomended as the best PSU for the job I know he sells some
switch mode ones, is there something available to better this?

Switched psu works fine, maybe even better than toroid (ongoing discussion still), but the switched is cheaper than the toroid, and as least as good

Go for the 12v switched ofcourse.

Thanks Teamacc.. That's a great help. do you know if that switched PSU would be able to power two boards at once? I was considering making them mono blocks.

or would it be better to give each board its own seperate supply?

If you try to do mono blocks on shared suppy, there is no point in doing so...
Either use one board with one psu, or use 2 boards with separate psu
Keep in mind though max output power will be 4x25w, non-bridgeable! (so no 2x50w!)
