Hi,
looks like the "multicel" I used to have in my "Pied Piper" speakers (made in Holland 😉 ) Don´t know the specs anymore but a short search should do the rest.

Thanks!!!
After some searching with your info it looks indeed like they are Multicel .
The only specs I found were:
8 Ohm
120 W (8 kHz at 12 dB/Okt.)
92 dB 1W/1m
3 kHz - 50 kHz
Which would make them fairly useable.
Oh no, not another project

These Ribbons are the same as used in my BNS evolutions (also made in holland) which is a great speaker.

Hello Willem,
They are for sale at: http://www.brigatti.nl/
Look under 'Nieuw'
The seller also told me they were used in BNS speakers so they are probably the same. That and as the info on their website is all they have, they might very well have bought the lot from BNS.
I bought 2 (yesterday) and they look quite nice.

Wow again,
thanks a lot amp-guy.
I have found references to the JVC but couldn't find a spec sheet, so I would appreciate if you would send it to me.
Thanks again.
PS. in the meantime I have also found this: http://www.schenk-audio.de/frihu/Multicel_Ribbon_2.jpg
Looks like this tweeter came in many guises

I ordered two of these units @ brigatti, and they arrived pretty fast. I took one of them apart to see how they were build. It looks to me they are build somewhere in taiwan or china as a low cost, medium quality, ribbon tweeter. And the fact that they are sold under various brandnames agrees with my findings.
I don't say it looks bad, but it is no high-end build quality either.
Maybe that also explains why the units in my BNS speakers say "specially selected" they probably select the good one's out of a bunch of units from variable quality, because that's cheaper then buying a brand/model that's always good quality.
I would however advice you not to take these units apart since the chances are quite big your unit will perform less after taking it apart and putting it back together. The ribbon itself is glued to the plastic and when you separate them there's a big change you will deform the ribbon.
greets,
Willem.
