Does anyone have tried these LM3886 based board ?

I want to make a 6 channel amplifier that should be relatively cheap (less than 40USD par channel) but of descent quality.
It will drive actively up to a pair of 3way speaker.
About 100W@4 Ohms should be sufficient.
I would be better if it is low output impedance stable (3 Ohms or less)
I am now hesitating on what board to choose.

I have seen those boards:
- a PA100 type with 2xLM3886
- a BTL200 with NE5532 type
- a PA150 type

Does anyone tried one of them ?
What's your opinion ?

Hi,
if you really need 100W into 4r0 then go discrete.
If you feel you must go with a 3886 based chipamp then a parallel 50W into 8ohms design will meet your power specification.
Do all the drivers in your 3way need the same voltage and/or current drive?

I recommend a pair of 3channel amplifiers. That way you can place each amplifier right next to the 3way speaker terminals and gain the advantages that come from using very short speaker cables.
 
You might also google on LM4702 based boards. The can sound really good and the LM4702 is a amazing VAS chip.

Also take a look on the site of Panson from this forum. He offers very good compact amplifier board solutions.

Those semi discrete designs, often offer better stability in lower impedances and better heat transfer then full chip amps.

Actually, I'll probably seldom need 100W@4Ohm.
I want this amplifier/active crossover to be flexible and to be able to load various load to it...

60W into 8ohms is available from the 3886.
Three of these amps could be fitted into a single chassis on one big heatsink to power an 8ohm driver, 3way speaker.
For discrete @ ~60W into 8ohms, look at DX and ESP and AKSA and so many others.
The advantage with going discrete is that some can tolerate 4ohm driver load without the need for a redesign. Whereas using a 3886 on 40hm requires the different supply voltage and in effect a different design.
