I'll whip up a new diagram once I've got the trannies (8 in one go - reminds me of a fairy tale).

🙁 I've been a lazy boy and found a friendly distributor who is doing a good deal on 500VA trannies, so I'm not going through with this. This'll give me a chance to fit the whole lot into single 2U chassis.
Interesting ideas for joining them up in series, though. Thanks for the ideas - maybe next time🙂

That's a given - thought you had come up with a new outlet.
Just got a 600VA from Harbuch's $109 delivered best deal I could find

I've gone for the 625VA 'standard' ones (40-0-40 - model J2426), which came to $101.45ea including courier. Cheaper than buying locally (Melbourne).
