Depending on the source's output impedence and any limitations, it would work.
However, bridging the stereo amp with a mere 2K may reduce its "seperation" ability, causing "blending" towards mono audio.

First off...... I, and any other reader here, have no idea what type of units are involved, or the circuitry (schematics) used in them, and so it's pretty impossible to diagnose and understand any issues.
Speculating, guessing, is not a good proper way to go about something in electronics.
Your setup makes the sub output added to the main speakers, which is possible but the adjustment maybe tricky.
For a conventional 2.1 system what is missing is the high pass filter in front of your stereo amp.
Many subwoofers have "line level" inputs and high pass outputs to perform this function.
