Hey, I built my first computer in 1975. It ran at 800 KHz had 2 KB of memory and a 300 baud modem. Programs were loaded from cassette tape. It was a SWTPC 6800 system....some old timers here (including me) built their Tiger series amps.
Years ago I came up with a manufacturing process that would assure precision and reduce scrap if they followed the process I came up with and used the fixtures I designed. Everyone signed off on the change. When the fixtures were complete upper management wanted to reverse the order the fixtures were used...despite the fact that they needed to be used in the exact order to achieve the precision. $25,000 down the tubes...

I hate truly stupid people....You may know the ones, like, can't find the UK, India or anywhere else for that matter, on a World map. The ones who don't know who the US fought in the Revolutionary War, can't name one single branch of government, how many World Wars there have been, nor who fought who. et. al.
I've had these "discussions" with my wife zillions of times....to her profound discomfort.
I'm trying so very hard to get my 16 YO son to learn this....but it's all so very difficult.
"Why should I know this?".....seeing my wife "exist" without knowing much. AND, and we have a culture that ridicules 'intelligence', portraying those who teach (Big bang theory) and are true academics in their field, as somehow.........stupid.
I really hate how intelligence it seems, is just disappearing down a black hole.

I've gotten calls from recruiters for a job in Kent, Washington that knew I was living in Cincinnati, Ohio on a Thursday that said they needed me to start on the following Monday with an $2000 offer to help me relocate my entire home full of stuff including a motorcycle.
I hate spending forever searching for the right woofer and can't find it.
