Do I still need a woofer?

Dear Subwoofer experts:

I'm building a street-party system that needs to occupy a small volume.

I'm planning to use the following:
2 Dayton Quatro 8" subs in a 0.4 Ft^3 sealed box.

2 Dayton PA165-8 6" driver in a 0.3 Ft^3 sealed box.

2 Sealed mid-range.

I'm running 1 amp for the subs and one amp for everything else.

How does this look in terms of full sound without any huge gaps in frequency response? I am not looking for deep bass, but a musical bass, with solid hits of the bass drum on dance music.

I'm wondering about whether I need a sub woofer at all. Would a regular woofer such as a pyramid 8" woofer be satisfying on the drum hits?

Thanks for your input, Paul http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=297-415http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=295-015http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=295-015 http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=295-015

i don't know, but i came here to learn how to get the biggest boom out of the party bike i'm planning. right now, i have a sonic impact class T amp driving a pair of mission M71s stuffed in saddle bags with a sony CD player suspended on bungee cords.

there's a fairly big "show your street party bike pics" thread somewhere in here. you might want to stop by there.

Is that 0.4 cu ft per 8 inch woofer, or for the pair? I think you will have pretty limited bass from that setup and it will take a lot of power to get much extension from it.

Depends what you want I guess. Rather than sub box and woofer box and mid box, I'd go for a woofer box that did mid - this will be a vented box. Overall the box volume would be about the same, but it will cheaper and require less power.
