Do I need to power my DSO via an isolating xformer

My DSO blows up at 300v so mains is out anyhow. @rayma that probes a pretty good option so thanks for that.

You have to be mindful of the differential probe specs and what you plan on using it for. Your measurements can easily get lost in the noise.

On the topic of noise and to basreflex's point here is the hantech 2mv/div with the probe shorted. Not sure what use that is to anyone. If you disconnect the probe its quiet so appears to be ground noise.

and appears worse thru the iso xformer. In fairness to Hantek you can b/w limit to 20Mhz to limit nose but here it is in its full ugly.
