I’m confused on the crossover frequency. Should it indeed be low-passed at 50Hz, or should it be low passed at around 500Hz? Wouldn’t there be a problem if I’m crossing over at 50Hz since my single drivers don’t reach that low?

That is up to you. I’d be trying lower.
