Has anyone attempted a split fresnel solution using Alan's 12.2" fresnels?
If so, will the trimmed fresnels cover the full 12" of a 15" LCD, or is there still a portion of the LCD that is unusable?
Are the fresnels plastic? Material is not specified, but I doubt they're glass...
Also, are the mirror panels Alan sells a first surface mirror?
Is his glass panel low e or IR blocking glass, or just generic glass? He doesn't list any specs...

I havent done this myself... and I could be wrong, but I think I remember reading that people got alot more out of their panel but there was still a tiny portion of the screen that didnt show.
And I cant see how a 13" x 13" glass panel could be first surface of any quality if it's only 9 bucks!

Thanks Cruser!
loss of 1/8" I can live with! Thanks!
Like most, I'm a fan of pics if you've got the time to take 'em! ;-)

I split the 12.2 fresnel with a dremel and a cutting wheel. Cut off most of the excess platic around the edge and then dremeled any area that was not completely split. Took me about 20 minutes. May not be the straightest or easiest, but got the job done.
