can people who have completed DIY projects add their link to their site, to the diyaudio.com links??
because if u dont happen to check the forum when a project is completed, there is no easy way to find it again other than sifting through ten million questions on not related things.
and having a list of completed projects would be great
sound good/??

A different suggestion:
A permanent thread ("sticky") with completed projects, kinda like the "post your results!" thread in the DIY projector forum.
This would make deletion of posts by moderators absolutely necessary, since I daresay there are more speaker-builders than projector-builders!

I have suggested this to the moderators not so long ago. It is a great idea (of course) with the pros being 1) easy access for newbs and 2) time saviing.
Cons maybe viewed as 1) an easy out to clone rather than learning and 2) the risk of someone posting a design that either doesn't work or hasn't actually been built.
Still, you have my support (for what it is worth). It may help generate interest from people who otherwise would be turned off by the initial jargon and complexity (yes, it is difficult) in understaning this fascinationg topic. If you get one more person into DIY then it would be worth it.

Howz about a requirement? The poster must be able to call it a tried and tested project meaning: He/she has heard it and that there are pictures-of the person listening/building...The usual type of proof that the thing is working.
well,,
im not expecting linkwitzlab depth 😉
how about-
pics
subjective sound quality like comparisons to what uve already heard..
construction
modeling
crossover info
Philosphy behind choices made (i like that one)
nothing too strenous!
unfortunately we all cant dumax our speakers then have them tested in anechoic chambers with multi thousand dollar mics..
i dont expect much
its just ive seen some good ones on this forum, and i dont know where they are gone or who made them!
like for example-a guy who texture coated his main speakres with speckly blue-green stuff, with seas woofers,i liked that one! hes in europe somewhere, but i cant find the link knowing only that much 😛
lost in the mountain of posts.

I'd like to hear from some of the forum senior members/moderators on this proposal. How do you react to this suggestion ?
Well, I love the idea.
mikee, I use me digital SPL meter from Radioshack and WinRTA on a PC connected to my receiver. I do the measurements in my basement or sometimes outdoors. I don't expect perfection from this setup, but expect a general idea of where Fc may be, any FR artifacts that may arise from x-over, enlosure principal, etc. (You may see that I'm hinting towards design philosophy 🙂, I like that stuff too. Hope all goes well and that we can perhaps, find and add the already featured projects in the new section.

i agree

I'm thinking about starting to add users to it so others can upload there pictures instead of them sending them to me via email. people can start adding them to it them selves. it is pretty easy to do. You can use either the web-page interface or via gallery remote. I use gallery remote because i can upload a few dozen pictures at a time : O )
if any one wants space or think i should to a diy audio gallery let me know ill do it asap and start adding user's

yeh if we had a sticky thread-people could just use attachments in that without needing webspace.
but it would be good..

Well,
let's add one (at this moment I'm creating PDF files of my projects, so in the next few weeks a few other projects will be added to my website)
http://www.vigier.demon.nl
In the Menu:
Centerspeaker: choose Projects --> Speakers --> 3 way Centerspeaker
Sub: choose Projects --> Speakers --> Peerless sub
Grtz, Joris

The main problem with picture galleries is bandwidth...
As always, if you want a thread sticky, just holler out, and if it seems to have enough value, we will do so.
