Thank you! I made everything except the motor. In an earlier thread, I posted a lot of info, including design sketches, and you can see there how the bearing is made. As far as the bearing is concerned, I stayed with the original plan, but I ended up making the 2 bushings out of Nylatron, a hard Nylon impregnated with Molybdenum, a lubricant. I'm using a light oil as well.

I was able to use some leftover material from jobs that had been finished at work. I did purchase the bearing shaft from McMaster-Carr for $9 + shipping. I think that if I had to buy everything (just the bearing parts), it would have been around $75.

Well you cant buy anything cheaper than 200-300 $USD.
Does anybody know of a good TT that has a good bearing and can be used for DIY?
I mean if you buy it used of course at a good price.
