Hey guys, don't know what category to post this, but anyway.
I have finished my boombox!
I'm super happy with it! Some of you may remember helping me out and it's finally completed. So first of all I would like to thank everyone out there that helped me out, I have learnt so much over the last couple months.
If you can't remember (and people who don't know) here are the main components
A sanwu blue tpa3116 amplifier
2x DC28F-8 1-1/8" Silk Dome Tweeter
2x Dayton Audio DS215-8 8" Designer Series Woofer
1x 12000mAh 12v SLA
It's goes very loud and the quality it's incredible, haven't heard anything like it.
I was so amazed with the power I wanted MORE! haha.
So I put in a 12v to 24v voltage booster regulator, it's not the best way to do it but it works flawlessly and it definitely helps with the lower freqs.
I soldered new mom switches on to the amp board as picture below shows, so I can change volume etc from outside the box.
I have two main switches, one turns on the whole system and the relay can tell if I have 240v mains connected or just goes with the battery. The other switch turns on the battery charger
I have battery level meter, ammeter, USB charger. Wifi Led lights. That's all I can think of for now. Everything works perfectly.
It was so much fun building, I did it for something to do (new hobby) and I had little to no experience with electronics and dealing with wood but learnt from this forum, other forums and YouTube .
I'd love to hear you thoughts and ideas for my next build.
Btw in one of the pictures you may see some 3d printed grills I designed for the Tweeters. They will have a magnet to clip on/off for travel and take them off for showing these amazing Tweeters off haha 🙂
