DIY speaker cables for PA system

I wanted to again thank everyone who chimed in and shared their precious knowledge and experience. With all your help, I was able to make my fully functional replacement speaker cables for my Passport PD-150 Plus system!

I used 16AWG GearIt speaker wire which I bought from Amazon for about $15 (link). For the connectors, I went with Neutrik right angle connectors NP2RX-BAG (link). I bought 5 of these from an online store called Alphatone Audio and paid about $28 including shipping.

The length of the cables is 25 feet each. Soldering wasn't too hard. I watched some videos showing how to solder Neutrik or any other connectors beforehand. I did make a mistake of not letting the end piece through the cable before soldering. But I had an extra connector so decided to cut the wire and start afresh.

As one of the screenshots shows, the cables fit in the mixer unit's rear compartment very nicely, along with a power cable.

On a side note, a few days after I bought the PA, I realized one of the speakers' woofer wasn't working. And when I shook the cabinet I heard something rattling inside. So I opened up the cabinet and found a yellow coil part lying around. Looking at the circuit board, there was a spot it looked like the coil was meant to be seated wrapped in a zip tie. So I just soldered the coil onto the board and seated it underneath the zip tie, and the woofer started working. The yellow coil has a slippery surface and is heavy so I don't know if a zip tie alone can do a good job holding it into place, especially when these speaker cabinets can be dropped on the floor or kicked around in heavy use. A minor design flaw, perhaps?

Anyway, making my own speaker cables for my Fender Passport PD-150 Plus was a quite rewarding learning project. Many used Passport PA units go on sale on eBay without any cables. Of course, buying ready-made speaker cables is a good option. But perhaps this thread with all you guys' shared information can be a great resource for others like me who have little DIY audio/electronics experience but want to try making their own speaker cables to their own desired specs compact enough to fit into the unit's rear compartment.
