DIY power supply => sparks & blowout!
I recently acquired an infocus panelbook 550 but unfortunately without a power supply. I found the power plug pinout on this forum and hardwired the respective leads from an old Dell ATX power supply to the panel's pcb.
Unfortunately when I turned everything on sparks flew and some of the components blew - bargain!
Does anyone have any ideas why this might have happened? I checked and double checked the voltages and current on each lead with a multimeter and they all seemed fine??
I have read a lot about people planning to make their own power supply but have found no follow ups - could people post their success rate and a quick guide on their method.
