Yes, I can imagine. To minimise complexity I've ordered one of the 6 gang pots 😱There has been a LOT of phaffage getting it to work nicely.

Good choice. 🙂
Sfernice (I think) used to sold pots which could be piled. The idea was excellent but the building quality and the mechanical assembly should have been much better.
Cyril Bateman published a detailed article in Electronics World on how to gang pots in a manner similar to that shown post #17 but without a motor

Sorry, I remember it but I do not own my Electronics World collection anymore.
I can ask a copy from the guy who has it now but it may last a bit of time to get it. The article was published around year 2000, I think. Maybe a DiyAudio member could provide it.

...Cyril Bateman published a detailed article in Electronics World......
May be on-line here:
ELECTRONICS WORLD: Sucessor to Radio Television News
I do not see anything like that in there; it seems unlikely. And this EW did not run to 2000.
That's the US-based Radio News publication. Is there another similar-name magazine?
American Radio History: Documents from the History of Radio TV and FM
broadcasting and Electronics
I think the American and British publications had the same name, but were different. I have a Wireless World index CD somewhere, it may be mentioned in that. I'll try to find it.
I think Wireless World became Electronics World
You are correct; and a more likely place for Cyril.
