That would be interesting, no? That would pretty much complete the DIY component line - amp, pre-amp, and DAC.
You can find attempts at a D1 clone in old threads. I believe Spencer (FETaudio.com) made a nice circuit.
Spencer had a few good kits too. I hope some of them return. I got one them, And that DAC have been with me for the last 10 years now.
