OK, (THAT'S out of the way) ... DIY Parabolic Mic, .. Do you have to Always be on a reasonably horizontal plane to reflect the laser back to the "Sweet" spot (Mic) on the dish ??,or can you angle the laser beam ..
IF this is possible could someone PLEASE explain to me the procedure to get a angled laser back to the Mic, ..
WHY, Cause I would like to get some audio of an Eagle (plus other wildlife) but the closest I can (ever) get to the Eagles is 'bout 50metres, & then they are up a tree, anywhere from 5-50metres up.

WTF? why would you need a parabolic dish for a LASER mic?
Are you using a parabolic dish to focus the sound on a regular microphone, along the lines of this article
Or are you really trying to do a CIA job of bouncing lasers off of windows. All sorts of questions spring to mind. Why are eagles near windows? etc etc
I've used a regular parabolic mic. You place mic in the focus of the dish, which can be found using it to reflect a bright object (NOT the sun) onto a piece of paper from the residual reflection from the dish. Or you use the manufacturer's spec, or you buy an all in one rig such as a Telinga
You listen to the mic through headphones, point dish straight at sound source, peak the signal on it and hit record. No lasers needed. You'll get a great recording for up to 20m, more than that depends on how noisy the environment is.
Perhaps I am being stupid today, but I just don't get the laser, what's up with that? Link or picture please 🙂
