Greetings from Norway.
Since this forum have a dedicated Introduction Area I feel the need to chime in 😀
I am Haldor, a39yr old youngster, four kids, young wife, big house and short on time... Sound like the stage in life to take up hifi DIY-projects 🙄
Insterests range from sailplane gliding (licenced), photography, video, movies and various DIY projects. Also have a long history in RC-modelling (planes) but dont practice much of that at the moment.
Previous experience with DIY sound systems / build:
Car audio, front system and sub enclosures.
Dedicated home theater room at home housing a Sony VPL50VW projecting onto 110" screen. Sound comes from a 5.1 sound system (Marantz and B&W)
I have already spent a fair bit of time on this site already sourcing information on full range (FR) line arrays and have 50 speaker units enroute as I type this.
I really like the estetique of line arrays and the stereo imagery these units are praised for is alluring. Intention is to replace my current front system with a set of line arrays.
I have some experience with wood working and the actual construction/wood woork so in most cases this isnt the most daunting prospect of what is to come. I have not much experience with creating XO/ using EQ and calculate speaker enclosures, frequency responce etc.
But I am a tech head and with some effort usually get a good hold of how things work 🙂

Hi Dave and thank you for the weolcome 🙂
Went for the Vifa TC9-18-08, seem to get a lot of praise and they are fairly cheap too 🙂
Have 4 drivers in hand (+50 in transit) and the current speaker project list consist of:
1 - Cornu Spirals using 5mm MDF and 6mm foam board. Parts are cut, assembly next
2 - Sealed FR stereo monitor (following the Magico Mini lovely design) Not started
3 - Line array stereo speakers, 20 drivers per side. Drawings are ready
4 - Line array center speaker?? Undecided
