Hi everyone
I am in the process of choosing the components for assembling a new streamer keeping open the possibility to add a DAC later on.
The list below illustrates where I stand at this point. As can be seen from the components chosen, primary power supply will be based on ultra capacitors. How to feed them remains still open for debate.
Once everything is finalized I plan to assemble the parts on a wooden board looking for the most efficient layout. At that point, if the sound is satisfactory I will think about adding a DAC and to purchase or otherwise source a nice enclosure.
Any suggestions on components, power supply or sourcing a high quality case?
Thanks in advance

Why 4x clock's? Personal i realy don't like the ultra caps. But not open up a can of worms. My preference would be for a good diy linear reg. Jan didden's super regs got low noise and low impedance.
Modushop got nice diy cases. But you need to make up a cad file or drawing for the cut-outs and laser tekst.

There will be 2 clocks. Need to choose between Accusilicon and Crystek.
thanks for the lead about cases. Will check it

I am designing the layout for a ultra capacitor based power supply employing Ian Canada UcPure MKiii for which I can only find length and width. could anyone kindly communicate the height ?
thanks in advance

Hi, I would recommend Ian Canada clocks, They are expensive but Wow, I'm currently burning them in less than 24 hours the listening experience is wow
Thank you 🙏
I am still waiting for the delivery of the first boards to assemble the streamer. As soon as I get everything working with Volumio, I will order the DAC board and the clocks.

Do you plan to enable power on and OS safe shutdown with a single physical button? Or is this built in Ian's hats?
Which clocks?
Ian recently released four clocks. 22.5792MHz, 24.5760MHz, 45.1584Mhz and 49.1520Mhz, The Clocks I purchased were 45 and 49 Mhz, I recently installed the clocks on IAN CANADA FIFOPI Q7 Synchronous FIFO Reclocker Board. Compared to the stock clock, it was a mind-blowing difference. The sound is richer, and every instrument in the music is clear. I can't really explain the difference in a technical way. as I'm not a sound technician.
I installed Crystek clocks replacing the stock clocks and they improved sound greatly. I wonder if the sc-pure would be an improvement.Ian recently released four clocks. 22.5792MHz, 24.5760MHz, 45.1584Mhz and 49.1520Mhz, The Clocks I purchased were 45 and 49 Mhz, I recently installed the clocks on IAN CANADA FIFOPI Q7 Synchronous FIFO Reclocker Board. Does anyone have an experience replacing Crystek with sc-pure clocks?
Here is a link to a video from Gabster
, Who kind of reviews the SC clocks,
