Well, I'm apparently not the first person in Korea reaching out for advice about where to get stuff here. All my supplies are behind me on a ship so I thought I'd do some research on where to buy other stuff that I'll need for an upcoming amp build.
I'm assuming a trip to Seoul is warranted. Certainly there are some awesome shops selling manufactured stuff ( ie. Chess Audio) but where are the bits and baubles?
I'm sure there is only a limited audience for this thread but I'll try to do my best and update folks about my findings. One fantastic thing about Korea is there are small local manfacturers right in your neighborhood. Yesterday I found a metal shop around the corner. The open sliding doors revealed stainless being cnc'd....could be some nice top and face plates coming out of there.
At this moment I'll get some Beltons but I'm looking for caps, resistors and Outputs: Hatt Audio next door may be a good iron source.
Names of Diy shops on the peninsula are most welcome.

If you're in Seoul, give DHTSound a shot. They're on the second floor of a strip mall sort of building. I have a couple of their entry-level output transformers, which seem to be well built for the price. I think they also do custom and C-core stuff. They have other stuff, but the OPTs were the highlight. The owner was super friendly. We barely understood each other but I had a notepad and we "argued" about a few schematics together. 🙂
A few doors down, there's this other place with no website that sells lots of expensive vintage parts. I wish I could recall the name. Lots of refurbished amps, rare iron (Peerless and Tango among others), original 300Bs, EIMACs-- lots of unusual stuff.

Thanks PF! I found map to DHT. It's been years since I've been to Yongsan and then I wasn't into build amps, nor did I have a Korean wife. I saw only commercially built things and mostly computers.
I'll take a look around and post some links/addresses.
Maybe I'll take my 45 tube amp schematics and see what trouble I can get into.

I highly recommend DHTsound mentioned above. Good selection, and he has done several custom transformers for me. Very nice work indeed. Hunduck Suh is English spoken, which simplifies the conversation a bit.😉

Thanks guys. Thanks WH. I bookmarked Oh's and DHT. I'm excited about custom winding. I hope someone can do a parafeed OPT.
