I bought an irig and while it seems to work well for clean instruments it causes severe feedback on distorted instruments. I've read this is due to crosstalk. I don't understand why this occurs.
What are the requirements to make a similar adapter.
There seem to be some that are simply splitter cables, then there is the irig, and there are a few active devices, powered by battery.
I assume some of these deal with impedance matching. There must be a reason that the most popular device, the irig, prevails over the cable only versions.
If anyone can shed some light on all this it would be appreciated.
