That's a stereo delay, right (hence the two pt2399's)? Looks like the datasheet schematic?
If guitar effects is what you're after, you can do some more tricks with those delay chips, add modulation etc. There are a number of diy (guitar effect) delays. I recently built the "Echo Base" which kind of emulates the Electro Harmonix Memory Man. But I've also built the Clari(not), which is a fuzz/vibrato, also using the PT2399 and a LM386 for the overdriven sound, the delay time of the PT has a LDR and is controlled by a led on the output of the LM386, rendering weird pitch bend effects.
Good stuff, those PT2399's, no hifi sound quality though, quite high THD on the longer delay times.
