DIY DAC (Kit) for CD Player project

Hello,

I'm about to build a CD Player out of an old Rom-Drive and a controller Board from Aliexpress.
So I need a DAC board next, to convert the SPDIF signal.

Mostly the whole thing is about building the player, so I look for a good solution without breaking the bank.
About 100€ would be great, and if I could upgrade it with a tube buffer, even better.

Do you have any suggestions for me?
I would prefer a kit over a complete module.

Even if it is a finished board, is the Lampucera still a good go?

Thank you and with kind regards,
Felix

Felix you could get an SPDIF to I2S converter and use a I2S DAC such as any on this thread. AD1862 / AD1865 / PCM63 / PCM58 / PCM1704 are the best ones, all slightly different sound. Also a few TDA1541 kits around the forum.

Did you have a specific DAC chip in mind? NOS DAC or delta sigma types?

I have some spare AD1865 (with DAC chips) / PCM1702 / PCM58 / PCM63 DAC boards and tube I/V buffer boards. Links to genuine DAC chips for these. can be provided.
