I am planning to make a CRT oscilloscope to use on my audio projects. I am not an engineer but learning analog electronics... I would appreciate a lot if you could help me a little bit on building it. I am planning to make it from scratch.
I am willing to use a 3LO1I (3ЛО1И) tube

Is 3cm not a little small ? There are also CRT with symetrical deflection, both plates the same signal but opposite phase.The data you showed doen't specify witch one it is.
Here the horizontal deflection oscillator + phase inverter if needed.
It is the so called transitron circuit.
The explanation is in dutch, hope you can decyfer.

This tube is often paired with the multipurpose oscilloscope/clock board designed by Jon Stanley CRT Clocks or the vector CRT board Zloshnik: vector CRT display.

Thank you so much. 🙂 I have also checked the prices of old osciloscopes on Ebay, yes they are cheap, but where is the fun if I am not gonna make it 🙄
I have found the previous link I have shared very simple and very well documented. I am glad to find that page which is teaching the concept very well...

I'm not quite sure, but isn't a yet given oscilloscope mandatory for aligning a newly constructed one?

I don't think so. I think, the only calibration I may need is the sweep function, which I am planning to achieve with a 555 chip so it won't be an actual calibration... I am still using a software oscilloscope to test before building the actual one 🙂
I understand the desire to learn by building. That's how I got started almost 60 years ago. A DIY vacuum tube scope may not be the best place to start when you can get a complete kit of a DSO scope with an LCD screen for $25 on Ebay.
I got one of the DSO138 scopes to make a small scope module for my modular music synthesizer. it works far better than I thought it would. It can be DC coupled so calibration can be done with a DVM. Out of the box the cal was better than the 2.4 inch LCD can resolve, so I left it as built. The time base is generated in a microprocessor under crystal control, so again, good as built. The frequency response is in the 250 KHz range which is fine for audio, which is my application.
The DSO138 is a bare board pair without a case for around $25. There is a DSO150 which comes with a case, and may be a newer design, I don't know. I got my DSO138 a couple years ago.

You only need a fully calibrated oscilloscope for detailed measurements. If all you are looking for is a signal then a DIY project is fine.
That ultra-simple schematic would be a nice setup to watch oscilloscope music; sweep function is not needed for this purpose because the left channel is connected to the horizontal channel X and right channel to the vertical channel Y. Jerobeam Fenderson is the best known composer of this kind of music.
When I was a teenager, I was given the remains of a DIY oscilloscope my grandfather attempted to build in the 1960's. He never got it to work and ended up buying one (a Telequipment S32 that I now have and still use). A useful tube oscilloscope is not easy to build 😎
