Ok ok, I've searched for an hour and can't seem to find a comprehensive list of DIY compatible monitors. I've seen several attempts to start them but nothing sticky at all and most of the threads go off topic.
I would like to start a sticky list...Moderators can you make this stick please?
If everyone would post what they know about monitors that strip well, have good specs and DO NOT have the FFC issues I believe it would help this forum tremendously. If the monitor has an FFC issue that is fixable that would be acceptable information as well. It would be great to only post about known monitors in this thread, please keep it on topic folks, thanks.

Not the fastest panel but it's a 14" which is good. Apparently this panel strips well and is DIY friendly. This is not a panel for hardcore gamers but for everyday use it seems to be fine.

O.K. Pulled apart the display. Good instruction off the H.P. support site. Monitor however not compatible for OHP use. Controller board plugs into secondary board that uses 4 seperate, ver short ribbons to connect to LCD on three sides of panel. I think that I will try a custom setup, and just continue to use my 3M 6100 with OHP for now.

BenQ FP531BL has no problems stripping... available benqshopper or futureshop.ca (in Canada)

CTX Panoview 540 and 530's are good, 540 is better for video tho, easly stripped, would only use the 530 for desktop use and cartoons like futurama, that looks good on it.

I have two of these Envision 5200ei monitors. I searched and found that the 5200e is good but not the 5200ei monitors. I will dismantle one of my 5200ei monitors this weekend to confirm as my warranty is out now anyway. Or have you tested the 5200ei already?

I tried to strip VIDEOSEVEN LCD L15C ( V7 L15C ).
And it has ffc problem. Do not buy it for DIY Projector of even consider it.

does any one know if the Liquid Video Monitor - E15LCD1 is the same as Liquid Video NEG A150X1?
I was looking at circuit city for the CMV1515/NEG A150x1 but found the E15LCD1 instead.

for the DIY, DO NOT USE the Benq FP557.
Go with the version FP557V2!!!!!
