Ive had 2 x 4" tang band bamboo drivers (like a derringer, 1 driver under the other).

The vertical dispersion is tighter than my 4 x fe87e (minimally framed 3") that i just used watching mxc.

I think it has something to do with the highs.
A 4" the highs come from a small area.
4" driver may have a 5" frame, making maybe 2 high sources 1" around but 5" apart.
I don't really know.

I do know I'd like to remake my 4 x 3" but most 3" lose 5db or so right after 5khz (tang band w3-593, fountek fe85). So i need a 3" minimally framed but flat response say to 10khz.

Maybe 3 x peerless tc9 (3.5").
Smaller 2" drivers can work, but higher fs, less cone area.

Here is mine.
Need a bit of aiming down when laying 8' away, ear slightly under bottom driver (height from the floor).
