had made a CDPRO2 with Rubidium clock.
Use this Rubidium clock module
This module can be set from 2MHz to 18MHz , each step is 1Hz .
The spec of FE-5680A is as follow
This is my flow diagram.
1.
8.4672MHz Rubidium clock system
BNC clock output
2.
Rubidium clock system turn on (heat up until temperature = 50C (about 5 minutes) ) power consumption =38W
when temperature = 50C /power consumption =16W
Stable temperature is about 50C

what's the jitter specification ?

Hi Guido, I have a rubidium clock too. If you like you can measure it (providing you have the right equipment to measure it). Should be better than oscillator modules given the purpose they were intended for.

Hi Jean-Paul,
Thanks, good to hear from you. I know how most of them measure. In addition the synthesizer in the backend adds jitter.
better is relative; If you need long term stability, they are OK. For audio they are a dead end.

Greetings! Interested in this topic. And I have a question to the knowledgeable colleagues. FE-5680A has the ability to simply be powered by a toroidal transformer 15v+, or power supply is needed? The second option is strange, because it is generally a self-contained unit has everything you need on board. I bought a (programmable version) in the hope to establish in the transport. It will soon be coming to me. But the question is how to ensure proper nutrition.
