Okay. So I bought this DAC Kit.
I know I'm not the only one, but I believe my question is unique. Read on...
I was inspired by Łukasz Fikus's Lampucero project for the CS4397 to invest in this beer budget kit.
Now, of course, the six million dollar question is: what is the perfect set of capacitors WIMA, Tantalum, OS-CONS; and in which positions to put them, to get that perfect Bass, Treble, Midrange, and Sensation score of 10, 10, 10, 10 (see article)?
See also the pictures of the board attached below.
Come on you obsessive HiFi nutcases... 😀

Sorry guys. I've now read through the other CS4398 DAC Kit forum and noticed ch33ta's summary (#36) (although the pictures have gone).
Such a different approach to Lukasz Fikus's Lampucero 1,0 upgrade to the previous CS4397 DAC Kit.
Since ch33ta's entry has lost its pictures it makes his instructions pretty hard to follow.
Does anyone have the pictures they can re-post?
Does anyone have an opinion of Lukasz Fikus's approach of: "just upgrade the capacitors and attach a tube output stage"?

Attached are a picture of the board, circuit diagram, power supply, and recommended alternative opamp output circuit topology, of an earlier version of the CS4398 DAC Kit (without the 74HC157D chip 'twixt 8416 and CS4398).

I have a question. I have the earlier version, without hc157. So I want it to output signal to RCA input of active speakers, and also hook LM4808 amp for headphones via 10k pot to it's output. Will NE5532 will be able to drive both loads simultaneously?
Hello I have received this kit . I will use discrete OUTPUT stage according Erno All FET topology , with separate dedicated Super shunt regulator. For the Digital 2 x 3.3V and 1 x 5V power supply I will use Studer topology PSU.
I will use a Waveio USB input card. I have seen following post DAC: CS4398 with CS8416+CM102s
but If I make like ch33ta than I do not have any coaxial input...
Can someone help me?
Thanks
