For Sale DIY ATC style active speakers (Finland, 12" bass, SM75 mids, ATC crossover)

Things you have for sale.
I'm selling my studio's main monitors, which have served faithfully for about fifteen years. Due to their DIY nature, they are best suited for someone who knows how to maintain them if needed. Stands are not included. These are located in Finland, and shipping them might be just too expensive. I would rather sell them as a complete system.

The speakers are built into enclosures made by a carpenter. The drivers include ATC’s 12" SB75-314 woofer in a sealed 100L enclosure, SM75-150 8 ohm (non-S version) for mids, and Morel’s CAT308 (formerly MDT-30) for treble. The earlier Morel MDT33 tweeters can also be included if desired. The front plate of the CAT308 is slightly smaller than the MDT33’s, and the felt visible in the photos both covers that area and helps a bit with diffraction.

The sealed cabinet reaches down to 32Hz in my studio, after which the response drops off steeply. These speakers prefer to be placed near walls. They are very heavy—easily over 60kg each. The cabinet is dual-layered plywood/MDF, internally lined with bitumen sheets. The front panel is triple-layered.

The crossover is an ATC EC23 MKIII. A good, quiet unit usually used in larger ATC installations. It has level controls, phase shift adjustment, and mute/polarity switching. A quirk: the right-side tweeter has always needed to be set slightly louder, and I never bothered to investigate it further. Crossover points are 350Hz/3.5kHz, which can be changed by soldering new resistors onto the board.

I also have another EC23 crossover, a very early and noisy model, which can be included if desired.

The amplifier is a large rack unit containing 3x Hypex UCD modules (400W for bass, 180W for mids and treble). The UCD180 for the right midrange failed a while back and was replaced with a version using an HxR regulator. The power supply is a large, heavy linear type with two custom toroidal transformers and the best capacitors available at the time. There’s also a power limiter on startup and relays on the speaker outputs to protect the drivers in case of a fault. The amp’s internal build isn’t particularly pretty, but it has worked reliably for 15 years.

Connections: From amp to speakers via thick Speakon cables, and from crossover to amp using 3x XLR to 1x 7-pin XLR cables.

The sound can easily be adjusted to taste. These are currently tuned slightly on the warmer side, I think.

I’m selling because ATC no longer sells drivers to third parties. If I blow a driver during a workday, replacing it would be complicated due to spare part or used driver availability. I have a pair of ATC SCM100ASLs arriving next week.

Asking 3000,00€. More pictures available on request, and I’m open to offers. Used ATC drivers typically go for 300–500€ each, and EC23 crossovers have sold for 800–1000€ from what I've seen.

If someone from EU area wants these, I could always drive them to meet at a closer location to the ferry terminals.

Due to their age and DIY nature, the speakers are sold "as-is." They are 15 years old and have been in daily use. I don’t blast them loud, the drivers are in good condition, but I would personally consider replacing the amplifier at some point.
