damn beat me to it tyler. Well I have got another question to ask.

YWH how much tweaking have you applied to your system as of late.

Are you runing it off of a HTPC(home theater pc)?

If your runing it off of the HTPC what kind of software DVD player are you using? I have heard that theatertek is the best software DVD player on the market now.

To "tweak"

Ywh, your second definition is close to what he meant by "tweaking" : "to adjust or fine tune". Basically tweaking is to make small changes to something in order to make it work better, function slightly differently than originally intended, or adjust it to suit your particular needs. Hope that helps, Smoke Eater🙂

Sorry for sounding like a smart-***, didn't mean to.

Descaler does not give you HD quality w/ an analog NTSC or PAL input. Not even close. It just does the same thing as a line-doubler. Basically, it takes an analog 480i signal and deinterlaces it, thus mimicing a progressive-scan signal (but noticably not as good).

HD quality is either progressive-scan 1280x720 (720p), or interlaced 1920x1080 (1080i). It is also a much cleaner digital signal, where as NTSC/PAL is analog.

To say that descaler can give HD quality from a regular analog input is like saying that using certain stereo amplifier can make a phonograph sound as good as a CD.

Saying that it gives you DVD quality from an analog signal would be an overstatement. Saying that it gives you HD quality has no truth to it whatsoever, so it couldn't even be called an overstatement.
