While this is really an amplifier question, I can't put it in one of the specific amplifier forums (Pass, Class D, etc.) because that IS the question - what amplifier is best for my needs.
I will be building Statement II speakers, in a room about 22' x 18' with 18' ceilings. I am thinking Pass F5 (more than 25 watts, but doubt I'd try full 100 watts Turbo for my first attempt at a DIY amp) or Honey Badger.
There are conflicting threads about how little power you really need (promoting low-watt Class A amps) and how important "headroom" is.
I picked those 2 amps as they are popular and available in the DIY Audio Store, but any input on the low-watt vs headroom debate and other amp recommendations are welcomed.
Thanks.

I'd guess majority would have been perfectly satisfied with 25W/8 ohm amp, I surely would, still I have built a G.Randy Slone "pro60" amplifier meant to be supplied with as much as 42Vdc, actually running on 37Vdc. In the end the total parts expense was not that high at all, so I thought why not. Never had a single issue with it and it has been running for the last 15 years.
I advise to build a more powerful amp if you can afford and spare the space to accomodate one.
edit: A turn-on & dc protection network comes handy if you mind servicing speaker units, should an amplifier fault occur.
