Thought I't throw up some numbers, before and after replacing the 6N2's with 6AX7's. Note that by adjusting the symmetry, I already cut the second order in half.

6AX7, 1Khz, 2.7V out. 6N2
Right Left Right Left
Second .081 .181% .504 .256
Third .418 1.105 1.242 1.143
Fourth .029 .008 .085 .023
Fifth .017 .218 .282 .225

Noise floor with the 6AX7's was about 5 dB lower and gain about 1 dB higher.
Lots to understand, like why the size of difference right vs left. I have not swapped anything R for L to see if it is tube or passive components.

Considering I started with over 2% second on both sides, not too bad. That third is a problem! I am a bit confused as the symmetry effected only the second, where the ligature I read said it should effect the third.
