Distorted bass?

Had my LM4780 kit up n running for a long time now... Still sounds great, however it has just started to sound distorted in one channel... It sounds like its just the bass, but i could be wrong.

Not sure if its a speaker or amp problem and my speakers are hard wired to amp so swopping speakers is not easy. Speakers look ok, no tears or visible damage, they have been around since I got them in 1989 so may be the problem...

Have you tried changing/swapping source and cables over from one channel to the other?

Could it be a bad or dry joint somewhere?

Can you take measurements from the good channel and compare them with the bad one?

If you get no further help here you could try posting on the general chip amp part of the forum maybe with some pictures of your boards. Seems to be more activity there. Good luck with this, hope you get to the bottom of it and let us know if you do, you just might help someone else.

Ok.. I think i have found the problem.. Noticed today the bass has gone back to normal.. only thing changed is a movement of the amp.. Guess i have some dodgy solder somewhere.

Gonna dismantle and resolder all joints and see if its better... Job for the weekend i think!
