Distance between mid and tweeter?

Cool. At least I can have symmetrical lobing even though my baffle is going to get bigger.

It looks like my biggest issue, at least on paper, is the size of the 6 1/2" drivers I chose even though I haven't heard any issues (subjectively) myself. They have an Fs of 52Hz and I should have them crossed above 208Hz but I tried crossing them at 250Hz, 300Hz and they sounded better to me crossed at 75Hz where my subs take over.

I chose them because, well they were cheap buyouts and have a high qts for open baffle. I tried crossing my planar tweeters lower (around 2kHz) but it didn't sound good. When I crossed then at 3200Hz it sounded much better even though with the 6 1/2" diameter they shouldn't. So far I've been using 3rd order slopes on everything.

Looks like I need to order another 24 drivers from Parts Express today. 😀

I'll leave the details to others, but here are the question that I think need to be answered.

The drivers are 5" apart.

Is that Center-to-Center or Edge-to-Edge, and if Edge-to-Edge, is the cone edge to cone edge or frame edge to frame edge?

Once that is determined, the next question is, what frequency is associated with 5"? Or the distance from Center-to-Center?

With a generic 5", I get 2700hz.

Actually the mid-woofers are 6 5/8" inch apart vertically C-T-C and they are crossed at 3200Hz. I know, that's way out of spec to prevent combing. They were cheap Buy-outs with a high Qts suitable for OB and extend as low as I needed. I put them in a mock up 1x12 and added a single PT2C Planar to the side. I used a pair of woofers crossed at 75Hz located elsewhere in the room. I figured I'd hear some nasty combing but I didn't. Maybe my ears just aren't as trained as I thought they were but I really liked what I heard even though I shouldn't have.

That's when I decided to go forward and got a total of 18 of the PT2C drivers and enough mid-woofers for 24 per baffle.

In My next build I'll do my best to give more consideration to the fundamentals of C-T-C spacing. 😀
