I just found a use for an old hard drive disc - as a cdp disc stabiliser.
Just place one on top of the cd disc to be played and close the drawer.
In two of my machines this gives a nice little improvement in audio smoothness.

Nice idea!
I don't work with hardware for some years now, so I don't have old hard discs.
But I can get some if I need it.
I opened quite a few of them, I even made a nice clock out of one of those discs.
But some of them (the old) are quite thick and heavy.
Some CDPs may have trouble with the added weight and thickness.
