Went hunting for bright white leds and found the following:
EL204UWC - 3.6V - 2300mcd @ 20mA - 32NOK a piece. That's about $4 a piece. Maybe a tad expencive but consider this:
They are only 3.8mm wide. That means, if your lucky you could put them 2 and 2. So on 8 inches you could get..... 8" = 203.2mm ... 203.2 / 3.8 = ~53 times 2 = 106 times 2300 = 243800mcd ...
Or am I waaaay of track here? (I flunked physics in highscool) 😀
Still... $400 is a tad much for a backlight... Isn't it? 🙄
