Diodes monolithic bridges _ do you use them in power amps? how do you size them?

I like big rectifiers too. Last SS amp I made that DIDN’T have a 35 or 50 amp block in it was in a boom box. And then it was a 10A SIP package, mounted to the main heat sink. I bought 100 of the 35A/600V blocks from Digikey recently. In that quantity they are just under two bucks.

Tube amps have to resort to 1N5408’s, so I can series them. And that’s for a 200 or 300 mA supply.

thank you very much Then considering the low cost i cant see cons in oversizing I will make some tests on on expendable amps
actually more than expendable are quite basic amps that can always be repaired in case of misuse
as anyone my dream would be to start from a schematic draw a pcb and make an amp more or less from the scratch
commercial amps have always some savings in parts ( i read that in a commercial amp the ratio of MSRP and parts cost is about 5 or even more)
moreover I am very impressed by the superior quality of some DIY projects even compared to very expensive commercial amps

no tubes here At max for a line stage But i am sure that good sounding SS preamps are possibile
Thanks a lot again Kind regards, gino 🙂
