Hi ,
I like to upgrade the 4 1N5404 (400V e 3A) diodes in the power supply unit of my Jolida Tube CD player.
Here a photo from inside:

My idea is use:
Fairchild Stealt ISL9R460PF2 (4A 600V TO-220) with trr < 20ns
This is a good upgrade ?
Other suggests ?

What purpose is served by this? The original design is adequate and you gain nothing by replacing a perfectly good diode. In some cases, a faster diode is not a good thing but I believe this circuit operates at power line frequency so speed is immaterial for the most part. Perhaps the forward drop with bigger diodes will be a few millivolts less but that amount is lost when you are rectifying 50 Volts or so.
